A carbon facial, also known as the Hollywood Facial, is a well-known treatment performed with laser technology. Though it has gained popularity by the name of a facial, carbon facial is a tried and tested treatment to control oily and clogged pores, uneven tone and texture and provide a bright and even effect on the skin. - Doctor Consultation - Not every skin type can get a carbon facial. This treatment works best on oily to combination skin types and needs to be assessed by a doctor before starting it. The doctor will understand your skin concerns and then suggest either a carbon facial or a cocktail of treatments that would go best with a carbon facial and decide the entire plan of action for your skin.
- Skin Preparation - Next up, once the doctor has suggested the carbon facial, it's time to get the skin prepared. To begin with the treatment, first the skin needs to be free of any makeup. Two levels of cleansing are done on the face at UNCOVER Clinics to ensure a clean base.
- Carbon Peel - Carbon is a powerful skincare ingredient which has the exceptional trait to absorbing any impurities in the skin, giving an even tone complexion. This is the reason we add a layer of carbon peel after cleansing on the skin for sometime. This helps in absorbing all the oily gunk from the pores.
- Laser Toning - Once the carbon has been applied to the skin, it's time for the dermatologist to do their magic. They pick the laser and zap away the carbon peel with the laser instead of just wiping it away. The Nd:YAG Laser is known to target the areas with hyperpigmentation and uneven texture to give a brightening effect. This means the laser then further strips all the impurities and regular use will also remove any dark pigment or hyperpigmentation.
- Skin Protection - Once the carbon peel and laser toning are complete, it is important to protect the fresh skin barrier from excessive skin exposure. The facial at times, can also make the skin slightly dry which is a good sign. To achieve the desired results, it is best that the facial ends with a good moisturizer and SPF. It becomes equally important for you to follow all the post-care instructions given by the doctor to see the best results.
